CAT exam 2024 today; check guidelines to follow
New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 entrance exam for management programme admission today, November 24. The exam will start at 8:30 AM and will conclude by 6:30 PM.
The CAT 2024 paper will be divided into three sections which include verbal ability and reading comprehension, data interpretation and logical reasoning and quantitative ability. For each of the sections, 40 minutes is allotted to complete. There will be a total of 66 questions in the paper.
As per the CAT 2024 marking scheme, for each correct answer, 3 marks will be given. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. There will be no negative marking for the unattempted questions.
CAT 2024 exam guidelines
- Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam begins.
- The admit card and valid identity proof must be carried along to the exam centre.
- Read the instructions carefully mentioned in the admit card and follow them inside the exam hall.
- Candidates must be in comfortable, simple clothes and avoid wearing any metallic items.
- Earrings, nose pins, necklaces, anklets, or bangles must be prohibited.
- Mehendi, tattoos, or unnatural marks on the body can also result in disqualification from the exam.
- Listen to the invigilator inside the exam hall.
- Manage the time wisely to attempt the paper and keep checking the on-screen timer to track the duration.
- Any attempt to cheat will result in immediate disqualification and may also lead to a ban from future attempts.
- Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam hall before it end of the exam is prohibited.
- Once the exam ends, all rough sheets need to be submitted to the invigilator.
- Candidates must avoid tampering with the computer systems as may trigger warnings or system locks.
