The department says that these efforts will benefit both the groundwater level and the forest area in the future.

Target of more than 34 thousand water conservation structures Catch the Rain

In line with the spirit of the Prime Minister’s Catch the Rain campaign, Forest Division Katghora has set a target of building a total of 34469 water conservation and soil moisture conservation structures in the seven zones in the action plan for the year 2025-26. Among these, maximum 16519 structures are proposed in Kendai region and 7037 structures are proposed in Pali region. This will increase rainwater harvesting and the ground water level is expected to improve.

More than 75 percent of plantation work completed

The Forest Department has set a target of planting 1107090 saplings in an area of ​​1103.58 hectares in the rainy season 2025-26. Till July 21, 2026, 840686 saplings have been planted, which is 75.94 percent of the total target. The target of plantation in Chaitma and Katghora areas has been completely achieved.

The campaign in the name of a tree mother also gained momentum Catch the Rain

Under the Ek Ped Maa ke Naam campaign, which is being run under the inspiration of the Prime Minister, 980515 saplings have been planted so far in the year 2026-27. This is the highest compared to the last two years. The department (Catch the Rain) says that the campaign is progressing continuously with the cooperation of local villagers and forest committees.
