Causes of acne in adolescence

Hormonal changes are mainly responsible for acne in adolescence. This problem is seen more in teenagers with oily skin. Apart from the face, acne can also occur on the neck, chest, back and shoulders.

Help your child develop regular skin care habits:

  • Explain that acne is a common problem in adolescence and there is no need to panic. The problem of acne can increase due to stress.
  • Advise not to touch the face or acne frequently, as this can spread bacteria.

  • Use products containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, which are helpful in treating acne.
  • Do not press or pop pimples, as this can cause bacteria to penetrate deeper into the skin and leave scars.
  • Limit your intake of high carbohydrates and dairy products.
  • Encourage people to drink more water, which will open the pores of the skin and provide quick relief from acne.
  • Increase the amount of seasonal fruits and vegetables in the diet, which are beneficial for skin health.
