CBSE Board Exam 2026: The board examinations of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for class 10th and 12th are going to start from 17th February. It is very important to know the dress code for the board exam and what to carry with you and what not. In such a situation, students should know about 10 important rules before appearing in the examination, otherwise they may get into trouble-
What are the rules of CBSE board exam?
There are some important rules for the students appearing in CBSE 10th-12th board examination. Know about those rules-
- Students will not be allowed to enter the exam center after 10 am. In such a situation, students should reach the exam center well in advance.
- Students will not be allowed entry into the exam center without admit card and school ID. In such a situation, do not forget to carry both these things.
- Only those students will be allowed to enter the exam center who will be in school uniform.
- Students will be allowed to carry only blue/royal blue ballpoint pen, geometry tools in transparent pouches and transparent water bottles with them to the exam centre.
- Calculator, smart watch or mobile will not be allowed in the exam centre.
Keep these things related to the exam in mind
- In 10th and 12th board exam, there will be 20% objective MCQ questions and 30% traditional short/long answers.
- CBSE has implemented On-Screen Marking (OSM) on the answer sheets of Class 12 board exams from the session 2025-26.
- To pass the board exam, students have to score at least 33% marks in each subject. At the same time, in the subjects for which practicals have been conducted, one will have to pass with 33% marks in both theory and practical separately.
- Students of 10th board will have to write the answers of each section in Science and Social Science exam in one place. For example, answers of Biology, Chemistry, Physics will have to be written in their respective sections only. Answers written in wrong sections will not be evaluated.
- Let us tell you that the 10th board exam will be held in two exam windows. Phase 1 (Main exam) is going to be held in February, while Phase 2 (Optional) exam is going to be held in May.

Do not do this work otherwise the paper may be canceled
If any student is found involved in spreading fake news regarding board exams on social media, he will be booked under Unfair Means (UFM) rules. In such a situation his paper may get cancelled. Apart from this, CBSE can also ban him for up to 5 years for giving exams.
