CBSE 10th-12th result in April: New examination system implemented

This time CBSE can release the results of 10th and 12th in April, which will be for the first time. Class 10th students will get a chance to appear for the second exam in May to improve their scores. The board has implemented a new ‘two-exam’ policy.

Ajmer Central Board of Secondary Education (Central Board of Secondary Education) is going to make a big change this time in the academic session 2025-26. This year, the board can declare the results of 10th and 12th in the month of April only, which is completely different from the tradition till now. As per estimates, the result is likely to be released between 20th to 25th April.

Till now CBSE has usually been releasing the results in May or after, but this time the work of evaluation of copies is almost completed and currently the process of “Marks Feeding” is going on. For this reason, preparations are being made to declare the result soon.

Why preparations to declare results in April?

The objective of the board is to ensure that students get adequate time for admission to higher education. With the early release of results, preparations for college admissions and competitive examinations will be able to start on time. For this reason the process has been expedited this time.

“Two exam” system implemented for 10th class students

A big change has been made for class 10th students from this year. Now students will get a second chance under the “two-exam policy”. Its objective is to give students an opportunity to perform better, so that their future does not depend on a single examination.

The second examination is proposed to be conducted between May 15 and June 1. If students wish, they can appear for the improvement exam after the first exam or can skip it.

Is it necessary to take both the exams?

No, both the exams are not mandatory for the students. If a student is satisfied with the result of the first examination, he/she will not be required to appear for the second examination.

What if I get less marks in the second exam?

The Board has implemented the “Best of Two” policy. That is, the one who gets more marks in both the exams will be included in the final result. This will not put additional pressure on the students.

No change in practical exam

Practical and internal assessments will be held only once as before. These examinations are conducted between December and January. The second exam will be for theory subjects only.

Prerequisites for the second exam

Some rules have also been decided to keep this system organized. Students will be able to give improvement examination only in maximum three subjects. These include Science, Maths, Social Science and Language subjects.

If a student is absent in three or more subjects in the first examination, he will not be allowed to appear in the second examination. At the same time, students of winter bound schools have been given special relaxation and they can choose any option from both the examinations.

Result Process and Deadline

After the completion of the marks feeding process, a special committee will review the results. This entire process may take about 10 to 12 days. The aim of the board is to streamline the admission process in higher education by releasing the results on time.

What will change for students?

This new system will reduce the exam pressure on students and will give them an additional opportunity to improve. Also, with the results coming soon, the career planning and admission process will also start earlier.

Overall, this new system of CBSE is considered to be a major reform in the education system, which is expected to provide more flexibility and better opportunities to the students.
