Telegram Exam Fraud: As soon as CBSE board exams start, children as well as parents become very worried. Every parent wants their child to score well in board exams and for this they make every effort. Since CBSE 10th and 12th examinations have started and hence on one hand children and parents are working very hard for their child’s education, on the other hand cyber thugs have also become active once again. They are reinforcing in the minds of children and parents the desire to score good marks through shortcuts and thus making them their victims.
This group of cyber thugs is very active on Telegram and they are claiming to give genuine board papers. So let us know about this scam in details-

According to reports, cyber criminals are cheating people in a very systematic manner these days. First of all they create channels on Telegram with fake names like CBSE Real Paper 2026 or Board Paper Leak. The name of the channel is the first thing that attracts the attention of children. Additionally, they use official-looking logos so that students can trust them.
Then these scammers post viral screenshots in the group and claim that they have the genuine paper. Also, they say that only top 30 students will be added to a special private group where the paper will be uploaded. In such a situation, children become eager to join that group. Then they demand Rs 500 to Rs 2500 to join the group and a link or QR code is sent to make the payment.
Children who fall into this trap, transfer money and as soon as they transfer the money, they are either blocked from the group or some of the previous years’ papers are edited and handed over as leaked papers.

Cyber criminals play with the psychology of children to extort money from them. They often write things in the group like the paper will be available 2 hours before the exam or only 30 seats are left. In such a situation, the child transfers money in a hurry without thinking anything. The feeling of lack of time and fear of exams becomes so strong among children that saving a year by giving them ₹ 2500 seems like a good option.

If someone in your family is giving board exams and you are also seeing such claims online, then do not trust them blindly. Adopt some methods to keep yourself safe. For example-
Get any information regarding question paper leak only from the official website of CBAC or reputed news media. Don’t fall prey to such claims spreading online.
Try to stay away from unauthorized groups formed on Telegram or WhatsApp.
Always remember that no board or government organization ever sells papers by taking money on social media. Doing so and participating in it are both legal offences.
