CBSE board exams from today, mathematics and bio papers on the first day

New Delhi, 16 March. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations for class 10th and 12th are starting from Tuesday (February 17). On the first day, there will be Mathematics (Standard and Basic) paper for class 10th students while there will be exam for Bio-Technology and Entrepreneurship for class 12th students. The examinations of both the classes will start from 10.30 am.

Advice to reach the center before time

The board has clarified that it is mandatory for students to reach the examination center by 10 am. Entry will be closed after 10 pm. Therefore, students have been advised to reach the center at least half an hour before. Also, schools have been asked to contact the board on the same day if there is any issue related to the question paper.

As per the instructions issued by CBSE, it is mandatory to carry the hard copy of the admit card to the examination hall. Without this you will not be allowed to enter. Students can carry school ID, blue colored pen, pencil, scale, rubber and transparent water bottle. Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth, earphones, cameras or other electronic devices are strictly prohibited. No bag, purse, book or any kind of written material will be allowed to be carried.

Make plans keeping traffic and weather in mind

Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj said that many national and international events are going to take place during the examination period, due to which there is a possibility of traffic jam or route diversion. Students have been advised to leave home early and keep in mind the local traffic and weather conditions.

Special guidelines for schools

The board has directed the affiliated schools to send objections related to the question paper only as per the prescribed procedure. All comments should be uploaded only on the OECMS portal and details should be sent to the prescribed email ID only, if required. It will be mandatory to lodge objection on the same day of examination. No action will be taken on complaints that are late, vague or not in accordance with the instructions.

Emphasis on process improvement

According to the board, there have been cases of some schools sending comments on wrong email IDs, late filing of objections and sending unclear complaints. In such a situation, clear guidelines have been issued to organize the process. The board has appealed for cooperation from all school heads, so that appropriate steps can be taken in time if needed.
