CBSE issues notice on exam ethics and APAAR ID implementation in affiliated schools
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued some important notices including the upcoming board exams. It has issued an important notice on ‘Unfair Means Rules’ for students appearing for CBSE board exams 2025. The board has shared the details of the implementation of APAAR ID as the primary identifier for students of affiliated schools in a separate notice.

CBSE issues notice to educate students about exam ethics
Nearly 44 lakh students are expected to appear for the CBSE Board Exams 2025, which will be held from February 15. Considering this, the examination authority has released a set of rules to educate students about examination ethics.
The official notice reads, “A detailed “Unfair Means Rules” have been framed by the CBSE. It is desirable that before the start of the examinations, all the students who would appear in Board examinations be informed about ethics of the examinations, their rules and the instructions issued by the CBSE. Though instructions are given on the Admit Card of the student, however, this communication is to reiterate the same with a request to all Principals of CBSE Affiliated Schools to sensitize their students and create general awareness towards prohibition of use of unfair practices in the examination hall/ centre.”
CBSE issues notice on implementation of APAAR ID in affiliated schools
The Board has issued a notice on the implementation of APAAR ID as the primary identifier for students of CBSE-affiliated schools. It has explained the importance of the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID system for students. The Board has also discussed how this 12-digit APAAR ID will help students lifelong in digital identity, transparency, accountability, and tracking academic journey.
