CBSE mandates functional websites of affiliated schools to include teacher details
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a final directive to all affiliated schools to create functional websites and upload comprehensive teacher details. The qualifications and prescribed documents of the teachers, as part of mandatory public disclosure requirements, need to be included in the website as per the board. Earlier, the directive was issued via a circular on March 5, 2021, and reiterated in a reminder on May 21, 2021.
However, despite repeated instructions the board has seen non-compliance from many schools. To promote transparency and accountability in the education system this move has been taken by the board.
The board’s official circular reads, ‘In some cases, it is observed that schools have though uploaded the desired information/documents but the links to these documents are inactive. Few schools have although uploaded the prescribed information/documents, but the icon/link of the same is not prominently displayed on its Main Home page.’
As per CBSE, some of the affiliated schools do not have functional websites, while others have not uploaded the necessary information or have done it partially. To avoid penalties, the board has urged schools to follow the order. Schools have been asked to go through the circulars and upload all the prescribed information and the necessary documents within 30 days.
‘Those schools who have apparently complied with the given directions are also instructed to re-visit their website and verify the uploaded information & documents vis-a-vis the directions given herein in the light of the cited circulars. In case of any disparity, the same may be updated immediately’, the board further added.
The official circular is available on the board’s website. For more clarity, one can visit the official website of the board and go through the circular.
