Central Air Quality Management Commission constituted 12-member pollution committee in Delhi

New Delhi A 12-member committee (Special-12 Team) will decide on the restrictions to be imposed under GRAPE (Graded Response Action Plan) in Delhi-NCR. The Central Air Quality Management Commission has constituted a Grape Committee in this regard. Apart from the officers of Pollution and Meteorological Department, officers of Pollution Board working in the districts of NCR are also included in this.

According to the notification, Dr. NP Shukla, technical member of the commission, has been made the head of the committee. This committee will meet continuously during the implementation of GREP and decide on imposing or removing different restrictions under GREP based on the pollution situation and further forecasts.

Now in the 3rd phase, the Delhi government will ban the diesel-powered Medium Goods Vehicles (MGV) registered in Delhi and having BS 3 or below standards. Whereas, diesel-powered LCVs (goods carriers) of BS3 and below standards registered outside Delhi will be prevented from entering Delhi.
