Central government gave update: 5 big good news for the countrymen
New Delhi. Amidst the fear of any shortage of LPG in the country, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has given great assurance. The government has made it clear that despite the current global situation, the supply of LPG in the country remains completely normal and there is no need for the common people to panic.
1.Record booking and delivery
According to government data, about 47.7 lakh LPG cylinders were booked across the country on Saturday, while about 47 lakh cylinders were also successfully delivered. This shows that the supply chain is working smoothly and gas is being provided as per the demand.
2. Big gas shipment will arrive soon
The government informed that a big ship carrying more than 46,000 metric tonnes of LPG will reach Visakhapatnam on May 13. This will further strengthen the availability of gas in the country and the possibility of any shortage in future will further reduce.
3. Despite geopolitical tension, supply remains intact
The government also clarified that despite increasing international tensions, 100 percent supply of domestic LPG, PNG and CNG is being ensured. The Ministry of External Affairs is constantly monitoring the situation in the Gulf and West Asia, so that any supply disruption can be handled in time.
4. Awareness campaign regarding small cylinders
A nationwide campaign is being run by the government to promote small 5 kg LPG cylinders. From April 2026 till now, more than 10 thousand awareness camps have been organized, in which about 1.75 lakh small cylinders have been sold. Due to this, the poor and needy class are getting cheap and accessible gas facility.
5. Strict action on hoarding and black marketing also continues
The government has made it clear that hoarding and black marketing of LPG will not be tolerated at all. Under this, continuous raid campaigns are being conducted across the country. Recently more than 1900 raids were conducted, 349 distributors were fined and 74 distributors were also suspended.
