MGNREGA News: The Central Government has enacted the ‘Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)’ That is, it has been proposed to abolish MNREGA and bring a new law for rural employment. Under the Bill, a target has been set to provide a constitutional guarantee of 125 days of wage employment to every rural family in every financial year. This guarantee will be given to those rural families whose adult members are willing to do physically unskilled work. At present, 100 days of employment was guaranteed under the MNREGA Act, 2005. The objective of this bill is to achieve ‘a prosperous and resilient rural India’ It also aims to promote empowerment, development, convergence and saturation. What is MNREGA scheme?
The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) is an Indian labor law and social security measure aimed at protecting the ‘right to work’ To provide guarantee.
