Big preparation of Central Government: Jammu and Kashmir may soon get statehood.

Full statehood may soon be restored in Jammu and Kashmir. The process can be started soon from the Centre. Nothing has been said officially regarding this. In the very first meeting after forming the government, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Union Home Minister Amit Shah passed a proposal to restore statehood in Delhi on Wednesday evening.

Sources said that the meeting which lasted for half an hour was in a very cordial atmosphere. The Home Minister has assured the new government to start the process of restoring the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir,'

Omar Abdullah said that it was a courtesy call, in which he apprised the Union Home Minister about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and also discussed the issue of restoration of statehood. Since Jammu and Kashmir became a Union Territory in 2019, the police force is under the Union Home Ministry.

During his stay in Delhi, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will meet several Union Ministers and there is a possibility that he may also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. NC had won 42 seats in the 90-seat Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved the proposal of Omar Abdullah Cabinet, in which the Central Government has been requested to restore the status of the state. 'In the cabinet meeting chaired by Omar Abdullah on Thursday, the proposal to restore the original status of the state was unanimously approved.'

Also, the Cabinet has decided to convene a special session of the Assembly in Srinagar on November 4 and requested the Lieutenant Governor to convene and address the session. He said that the Council of Ministers had also presented the draft of the Lieutenant Governor's address for the first session before the Council of Ministers, after which the Council of Ministers decided

On Friday, political parties described the proposal as a 'complete surrender' and contrary to the ruling National Conference's stance, which makes no mention of Article 370.
