Central government’s decision! 7000 crore highway in UP, fate will change
Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh has got an important gift in the recent cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved a major infrastructure project in the state, which can prove to be a game changer, especially for Barabanki and Bahraich districts.
What is the whole project?
The government has approved upgrading the approximately 101 km long stretch of National Highway-927 from Barabanki to Bahraich to a 4-lane access-controlled highway at a cost of Rs 6969.04 crore. The project will be developed under hybrid annuity mode, thereby maintaining a balance between construction and financial management.
relief from existing problems
Currently, there are many challenges on this route like sharp turns, heavy traffic and jam problems in urban areas. Construction of the new highway will significantly reduce these problems. Through bypass, traffic pressure within cities will reduce and travel will become more convenient.
Travel will be fast and safe
Access-controlled 4-lane highways mean better design, controlled entry-exits and fewer barriers. This will: increase the average speed of vehicles, reduce travel time by about an hour, reduce road accidents, reduce fuel consumption and reduce vehicle operating costs.
Economic development will get a boost
This project is not limited to just road construction, but will become a means of strengthening the economic structure of the entire region. Many economic, social and logistics centers will be connected through this highway, which will accelerate trade and transportation activities. This will create new opportunities for local business, industry and employment.
