Central government’s decision, Fastag pass rates will change from April 1
New Delhi.Toll travel may become a little expensive for drivers traveling on national highways from next month. The central government has decided to increase the price of FASTag annual pass. The new rates will be applicable from April 1, after which private car owners will have to pay slightly more than before.
Now the new price will be this much
Till now, FASTag annual pass for private cars was available for around Rs 3,000. But under the new system its price is being increased by about 2.5 percent. After this, vehicle owners will have to pay around Rs 3,075 to buy this pass.
Prices are reviewed every year
According to government rules, the rates of this pass are not permanent. These are reviewed from time to time and changes are made keeping in mind inflation and other economic factors. Under the same process, this year also there has been a slight increase in the price.
Lakhs of drivers are taking benefits
This facility has become quite popular since its introduction. Lakhs of car owners across the country are using this pass. Especially for those people who frequently travel long distances or use highways regularly, this pass is considered quite convenient.
Benefit of old rate till 31st March
Those who want to avoid the increased price can buy or recharge this pass at the old rate till March 31. After this, new rates will be implemented from April 1.
Valid at many toll plazas
At present this annual pass is being accepted at about 200 toll plazas in the country. Due to this, the drivers do not need to pay toll again and again and also saves time during the journey. Plans are also being made to extend this facility to more toll plazas in the coming time.
