The central government has banned Grok’s obscene content ‘X’ Notice sent to, given ultimatum of 72 hours
Govt notice to X on obscene content: There has been a stir in the world of social media because the central government has now banned Elon Musk’s platform ‘X’ But the screws have been tightened. The government has sent a strict notice to the company with clear instructions to immediately remove obscene content from its AI chatbot, Grok AI. Not only this, the government has given an ultimatum of only 72 hours to the company to take action in this matter and submit its complete report. This step has been taken regarding online safety and respect for women so that the internet remains safe for everyone.
For the last few days, a very worrying trend was being seen on the internet. X users were misusing Grok AI to tamper with the photos of women. People were posting even ordinary photos as obscene. This increasing misuse raised the concern of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This is why the Ministry has now taken a strict stance and ordered X to review its technical deficiencies and immediately correct them.
Dirty game of photo manipulation
The government had to take this drastic decision because users started giving instructions to AI to remove the dress of any woman and show her in an objectionable form. In many cases, Grok altered photographs of women to make them look obscene without permission. This is not only a violation of the platform’s own policies but is also strictly against Indian laws. Keeping in mind the safety and respect of women, the government has decided to stop this trend. If the platform does not ensure this, it may face legal action.

Warning was given earlier also
Let us tell you that this is not the first time that the government has shown strictness. In the last weeks of the year 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had issued a new advisory. In this, social media platforms were clearly told to more strictly fulfill their responsibility of removing obscene, adult or illegal content. The government has made it clear that if these rules are not followed, companies may have to face serious consequences and strict action. Now it remains to be seen what action X takes on this.
