CEO of Vingroup resort arm Vinpearl resigns

Dang Thanh Thuy has resigned as CEO of Vinpearl, the resort arm of conglomerate Vingroup, but remains on its board.

Vinpearl has not named a replacement or the reason for his resignation, which came on Thursday.

Thuy, 56, has a bachelor’s degree in literature and joined Vinpearl in 2004. He was previously its chairman from January 2023 to March 2024 and Vingroup’s deputy CEO in 2012-2016.

Vinpearl is one of Vietnam’s leading hospitality brands with 48 hotels, resorts, theme parks, and golf courses in 18 provinces and cities.

For the third quarter of 2025, it reported revenues of VND3.09 trillion (US$117.5 million), a 40.7% year-on-year decline, and post-tax profits of VND169 billion, down 66.6%. Its profits for the first nine months fell 86%.

It is 85% owned by Vingroup, whose chairman is billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong.
