Google recently added Two fatal flaws (CVE-2026-3909 and CVE-2026-3910) Have identified which are already being targeted by hackers. These ‘zero-day’ bugs are so dangerous that just by clicking on one wrong link, hackers can take complete control of your system.

What is this danger? (Technical Details)

According to Google’s report, both of these vulnerabilities have been found in Chrome’s main engine:

CVE-2026-3909 (Skia Graphics): This is an ‘out-of-bounds write’ bug in Chrome’s graphics library. Through this, attackers can manipulate the memory of your system.

CVE-2026-3910 (V8 Engine): This is a serious technical flaw in Chrome’s JavaScript engine (V8). Through this, hackers can create a fake website and run ‘arbitrary code’ on your device, due to which your data can be stolen.

CERT-In warning: Which users are at risk?

According to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), if you are using an older version of Chrome, then your system is insecure.

Affected versions: All versions older than 146.0.7680.75.

Affected platforms: Windows, MacOS and Linux.

Google has released an ‘Emergency Security Update’ to deal with these threats. You should update your browser immediately:

Open Chrome: Open Google Chrome browser on your computer.

Go to menu: visible in the upper right corner three dots (⋮) Click on.

About Chrome: By going to ‘Help’ section ‘About Google Chrome’ Click on.

Check Update: Chrome will automatically check for the latest updates and start downloading.

Re-launch: After the update is complete ‘Relaunch’ Click on the button. Your browser will be updated to the secure version (146.0.7680.75 or above).
