Champions League 2025-26: Mohamed Salah left out of Liverpool squad for Inter Milan tie

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been left out of the club’s travelling squad for its upcoming UEFA Champions League 2025-26 clash against Inter Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday.

Salah was pictured training with the squad at the club’s training ground on Monday, but his name did not feature in the travelling squad named by Liverpool.

The Egyptian forward has been left out of the starting lineup for Liverpool’s last three games against West Ham United, Sunderland, and Leeds. He gave an interview after the Reds’ 3-3 draw at Elland Road on Saturday in which he claimed he has been “thrown under the bus” during its slump in form, and that his relationship with manager Arne Slot had broken down.

Salah has scored five goals in 19 appearances for Liverpool this season, as the defending champion has struggled for form. Liverpool currently sits ninth in the Premier League, having lost six of its 15 matches, and is 13th in the UEFA Champions League league phase table ahead of its trip to Milan.

The prolific forward — who signed a two-year contact extension in the summer — is set to depart to the African Cup of Nations after Liverpool’s next match against Brighton.
