Pakistan is mobilizing army for Champions Trophy 2025, ICC tournament will be handed over to 17 thousand security personnel

sports desk: Champions Trophy will start from 19th February. The hosting of this tournament has been handed over to Pakistan. However, due to security reasons the Indian team will not go to Pakistan. But Pakistan has made concrete arrangements to increase security for this tournament. Champions Trophy has been organized on three grounds in Pakistan. At least 17,000 security personnel will be deployed in Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy matches to be held in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi from February 19.

According to sources, the Punjab government has started preparations to provide 24-hour security for the participating teams. Which will include team hotels as well as match venues in Lahore and Rawalpindi. An official said the Punjab government will deploy around 12,500 officers and other security personnel for the matches and teams.

He said 7,600 police and security personnel, including special commandos, would be on duty for the matches in Lahore while 4,500 officers, including 411 from the special branch, would maintain security in Rawalpindi. The official said that if necessary, 'snipers' and aerial surveillance will be done during the tournament with the help of the army.

8 teams have been included for the Champions Trophy. These 8 teams are divided into 2 bridges. India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh have been placed in Group A. England, South Africa, Afghanistan and Australia have been placed in Group B. Pakistan will play its first match against New Zealand. The Indian team will play its first match against Bangladesh on 20 February.
