Chandrachud Saheb became a commentator instead of giving justice, Uddhav Thackeray's attack on former CJI

New Delhi: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday said he is disappointed with recently retired CJI DY Chandrachud as he did not deliver the verdict in the disqualification case of Shiv Sena MLAs. In an interview to Times of India, Uddhav said that Chandrachud remained a commentator instead of providing justice.

He said that if Chandrachud had been a law lecturer instead of a judge, he would have gained more fame. Describing the current BJP leadership as cunning, Uddhav said that he found the Congress leadership respectable and consensual.

Attacked BJP

He said that Rahulji, Soniaji, Priyankaji and Khargeji… they have been very respectable. Even though we are not in power. There is definitely more humanity in him than today's BJP. Today's BJP is only 'use and throw'. He said that if BJP's Devendra Fadnavis becomes the Chief Minister again, Maharashtra will be destroyed.

What did you say on Adani issue?

On the Adani-Dharavi issue, Uddhav said that he is not against any person, but the way Mumbai is being gifted to Adani is not acceptable. He further said that just as Mumbai was given as dowry during the British era, we cannot gift Mumbai to anyone. The public will decide the government, not Adani. When I was CM, I met Gautam Adani, but it was not related to any tender for Dharavi. The way Mumbai is being gifted to Adani, that is why my government was toppled.

When asked about BJP's slogan 'Batenge to Katenge', Uddhav said that BJP's slogan should be 'Vapenge and throwenge'. He further said that when I was the CM, no one was cut. In fact, there was fire in BJP ruled states. They don't have any real issue to talk about, so they are resorting to this. They are talking about Pakistan in Maharashtra elections. These issues are irrelevant.
