BJP had submitted a memorandum regarding Kartik Purnima
BJP had given a memorandum to the Election Commission demanding change in the dates of the assembly by-elections to be held in UP. It was said in the memorandum that due to Kartik Purnima falling on November 15, people gather three to four days in advance in Ghaziabad, Kundarki, Meerapur, and Prayagraj. Giving this argument, BJP said that in such a situation, the Election Commission should change the dates keeping in mind Kartik Purnima. BJP's demand was that elections should be held on 20 November instead of 13 November.
