Char Dham Yatra 2026: The date of opening of doors of Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand has been revealed. Let us tell you that the doors of Lord Badrinath Dham were closed for winter on 25th November. Last year, Chardham Yatra started on 30th April, but this time in view of the auspicious coincidence of dates, it will start 11 days earlier from 19th April. The doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on 23 April 2026 at 6.15 am with rituals and Vedic chanting.

Holy festival of Akshaya Tritiya

The beginning of Chardham Yatra is considered to be from the holy festival of Akshaya Tritiya. On this occasion, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened on 19 April 2026. As soon as the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham open, the Char Dham Yatra will be formally inaugurated.

Registration and important rules

Devotees can register through the official website registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in, or Tourist Care Uttarakhand app or WhatsApp. The online registration process will start from March 2026. ID- Aadhar Card or any identity card and active mobile number.

Security arrangements will be strengthened

Preparations have been intensified at the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee, pilgrimage priests and administrative levels for the Chardham Yatra. Travel routes are being repaired, drinking water, electricity, health services and security arrangements are being improved.

Like every year, this time also the date of opening of doors of Kedarnath Dham will be decided on the day of Mahashivratri. The date of opening of the doors of Baba Kedarnath will be announced after the Panchang calculation and religious rituals at Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath.
