Chardham Yatra 2026: Note these new rules before going to Badrinath and Kedarnath; Now VIP entry will not be available as per your wish.

The ongoing Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand is at its peak at this time. A large number of devotees from across the country and abroad are arriving to have darshan of Baba Kedar and Lord Badri Vishal. Especially in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, there is such a huge crowd of devotees that people have to wait in long queues for hours for their turn. In view of this problem of common devotees and to make the darshan system more safe and smooth, Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has issued a new guideline i.e. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding VIP and protocol darshan. The main objective of this new arrangement is to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the common devotees standing in the queue for hours due to VIP movement or arrival of any special person and everyone can have darshan peacefully. Now how much will you have to shell out for VIP darshan? According to the new rules issued by the temple committee, now devotees will have to pay a fixed fee of Rs 1100 per person for any type of protocol or VIP darshan in Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. This entire process will be transparent and after depositing the fees, an official receipt will also be issued to the devotees by the temple committee. How to get VIP darshan slip? If you want to have darshan under the protocol, the process has also been decided: The official protocol information received from the state government to the district administration or Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee will be considered as its basis. Only after verification of this information, a special slip for VIP darshan will be issued, on the basis of which the devotees will be given darshan on priority. These special guests coming as per protocol will be given entry into the temple premises from the stairs on the right side of the main Singhdwar. Special rules for elderly and disabled devotees (Gate No. 2 Rules) To ensure that the sensitive section of the society does not face any problem in this era of crowd, the temple committee has shown complete sensitivity and tightened the rules. You can easily understand the admission system fixed for different categories from the table given below: Protocol office shifted to Neelkanth Rest House In order to implement the new system in a completely transparent and systematic manner, the temple committee has also shifted its protocol office. Now this office will operate from the ‘Neelkanth rest house’ of the temple committee. Along with this, clear instructions have been given to all the concerned government departments and coordination officers of the Indian Army related to the yatra management to provide cooperation in the darshan arrangements only on the basis of official protocol slip. If you are also planning to visit Kedarnath or Badrinath Dham with your family this summer season, then definitely keep these new rules in mind. For the common devotees, the temple committee clearly says that with the implementation of this new system, unnecessary crowd will be controlled and the path of darshan for the common devotees will become easier and easier than before.
