Charge in just 21 minutes! BMW’s ‘This’ Electric Car Can Even Power Your Home
- Increase in demand for electric cars worldwide
- Recently introduced BMW iX3 long wheelbase version
- It charges in just 21 minutes
BMW has introduced the long wheelbase (LWB) version of its new BMW iX3 electric SUV. The car is specially designed for markets like India and China, where cars with more rear seat space are preferred. The new iX3 will make its debut at the Beijing International Auto Show next month.
According to the company’s claim, this car can be charged in just 21 minutes and can run for around 800 kilometers once fully charged. Such a long range reduces the need for frequent charging. Interestingly, this car comes with a ‘Vehicle to Home’ feature, which can also power the home if required.

More space and comfortable ride
The wheelbase of the new BMW iX3 has been increased by 108 mm to 3005 mm. Apart from this, the overall length of the car has increased to around 4.9 meters. This provides more space in the cabin, especially the legroom for rear seat passengers. This makes long journeys more comfortable and makes this car a great choice for a family.
Emphasis on design and safety
In this new model, BMW has prioritized safety while making some design changes. Due to restrictions on retractable door handles in China, the car features conventional pull-out handles. Although this change may seem small, it is important in terms of security. The model coming to India is likely to have a similar design. The overall look of the car is modern and premium.

The BMW iX3 features a state-of-the-art battery and system, which offers excellent performance with fast charging. The big selling point of this car is its ability to charge in 21 minutes. The ‘Vehicle to Home’ feature makes this car useful not only for commuting but also for powering the home in case of emergency.
