ChatGPT App: OpenAI launches dedicated app for Windows PC

Delhi Delhi: OpenAI today announced that it has launched a dedicated ChatGPT app for Windows PC users. With this, ChatGPT users will be able to access the company's generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based platform on Windows 10 and Windows 11-powered personal computers. In a post on Owners can download an early version of the app from Microsoft. It also said it would launch a full version of the experience, possibly with more features, for all ChatGPT users later this year.

But there is a catch in this. Not all ChatGPT users can access and use the initial version of the app on their Windows PC. OpenAI has confirmed that only paying customers with ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT Team, and ChatGPT Edu subscriptions can access the ChatGPT Windows app and all of its features. Additionally, the app can only be downloaded on Windows PCs running Windows 10 version 17763.0 or newer OS versions.

As far as features go, the ChatGPT app on Windows allows users to upload files, answer various questions, get tips on various topics, search information, capture screenshots, answer related questions, etc. to get specific information or summary of the document. Will provide features like sharing pictures to receive replies and creating pictures and personalized greeting cards with DALL-E.

Additionally, OpenAI's ChatGPT app supports access to keyboard shortcuts like 'Alt + Space' for faster access to ChatGPT, and support for companion windows on Windows PCs. It's worth noting that this development comes almost four months after the company rolled out its dedicated app for macOS-powered Apple PCs with Apple Silicon at the core.
