ChatGPT stalled again: Users faced problems since Thursday night, what is the reason behind it?
Obnews Tech Desk: OpenAI's popular AI tool ChatGPT has once again crashed. At around 12 o'clock Indian time on Thursday night, users experienced problems in using it. Many users saw the message “Internal Server Error”. The issue was confirmed by DownDetector, a major site that tracks outages.
American users most affected
American users were most affected by this outage. According to the report, this problem continued for about an hour. OpenAI confirmed the outage on X (formerly Twitter) and said that work is being done to fix it.
Cause of problem: Microsoft's server
This problem was not caused by OpenAI, but due to a disruption in the services of their server provider Microsoft. Microsoft also confirmed this. During the outage, other Microsoft services such as Xbox cloud gaming and the APIs of OpenAI and Sora (text-to-video tool) were also down. After some time, OpenAI reported a solution to Sora's problem and continued work on ChatGPT and the API.
Second major outage in a month
This was the second major outage of ChatGPT in a month. Earlier, ChatGPT also went down with the outage of Meta on December 11. The special thing is that this outage happened a few hours after the announcement of integration of OpenAI with iPhone, iPad and Mac. A similar problem was seen in November also.
