Chennai Super Kings bundled out for 127 in Guwahati

A solid bowling performance from the Rajasthan Royals has bundled out the Chennai Super Kings for 127 runs in the IPL 2026 game against Guwahati.

Despite a batting collapse, Jamie Overton’s knock has helped the side to put a decent total at scoreboard.

Rajasthan Royals’ bowling strategy has put Chennai Super Kings in deep trouble in their opener match.

After being invited to bat first, Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack.

With Nandre Burger picking the wicket of Sanju Samson for 6 runs, Jofra Archer picked the wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad for 6 runs.

Nandre Burger picked the wicket of Ayush Mhatre for a golden duck, and with the dismissal of Matthew Short for 2 runs, CSK lost four wickets in powerplay.

By the end of the power play, Chennai Super Kings scored 41 runs in powerplay. Sarfaraz Khan and Karthik Sharma did show some resistance, scoring double-digit scores.

Ravindra Jadeja, who came to bowl the 8th over, did pick the wicket of Sarfaraz Khan. He went on to pick the wicket of Shivam Dube for 6 runs.

With the dismissal of Karthik Sharma for 18 runs, Chennai Super Kings were in deep trouble as they lost 7 wickets for 74 runs. However, Jamie Overton showed resistance in taking the side past 100 runs.

Noor Ahmad added 1 run while Matt Henry added 5 runs before their dismissals. With Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj at the crease, Chennai Super Kings went on to score 127 runs and got bundled out in the final overs.

Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger and Ravindra Jadeja picked two wickets each, while Brijesh Sharma, Sandeep Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi bagged one wicket each.
