Chennai Super Kings made waves in the IPL 2026 auction by signing uncapped talents Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer for Rs 14.20 crore each, setting a record for the most expensive uncapped players in the tournament’s history.
The five-time champions also secured West Indies all-rounder Akeal Hosein at his base price of Rs 2 crore. Earlier, CSK made a marquee trade, bringing in wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson for Rs 18 crore, while parting ways with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and overseas player Sam Curran, both of whom joined Rajasthan Royals.
Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana was released, adding Rs 13 crore to the budget. The franchise’s leadership remains steady, with Ruturaj Gaikwad and MS Dhoni continuing to guide CSK.
