Chhatarpur: 20 year old youth fatally attacked, beaten with butt and rod; SP announced reward of Rs 10 thousand, two suspects in custody
A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in the City Kotwali police station area of Chhatarpur on Sunday evening. On Pathapur Road, some miscreants surrounded a 20-year-old youth and attacked him fatally. The attackers beat the young man badly with sticks, iron rods and the butt of a machete. The condition of the youth is said to be very critical and he has been referred to Gwalior after first aid. There is also news of two suspects being detained by the police.

According to information received from the police, the incident occurred around 8:10 pm on Sunday evening. The victim Raj Pathak (20), son of Mahendra Pathak was strolling in the locality with some of his friends. Then more than half a dozen people who were already sitting in ambush near Sahu’s mill suddenly surrounded him.
Family members allege that the attackers included Manish, Nandu, Pappu, Pulao Dada, Chandu and Chatur Kushwaha, among others. All of them agreed and attacked Raj. Apart from iron rods and stones, the accused also attacked the youth on his head and body with the butt of a sword. In this brutal assault, Raj fell down bleeding.

After the incident, the family immediately took the injured Raj to the district hospital. The doctors there described his condition as very serious. The young man suffered deep injuries on his head, hands and other parts of his body. Seeing that the condition was not improving, the doctors referred him directly from the trauma ward to Gwalior Medical College.
SP announced a reward of Rs 10 thousand
As soon as information about the incident was received, there was panic in the police department. Superintendent of Police (SP) Agam Jain, CSP (CSP) Arun Soni and Kotwali police station in-charge Arvind Dangi reached the spot with heavy police force. Police inspected the incident site and started action based on the statements of the family members.

The police took immediate action and detained two suspects, who are being interrogated. Different police teams are conducting raids to arrest other accused.
