The third day of Chhath puja is 'Sandhya Arghya'. This day is considered very important. Sandhya Arghya is celebrated on Shashthi of Kartik Shukla. On this day, devotees worship the Sun God with full rituals in the evening and offer Arghya to the Sun. Bamboo basket also has its own importance in Surya Arghya. Traditional sweet thekua, rice laddus and seasonal fruits are kept in this basket. Then Arghya is offered to the Sun with water and milk. And fruits are offered to Chhathi Maiya. Sun God is the giver of life. The sixth mother is the goddess of children. At night, the story of Chhathi Mata Vrat is heard and songs of Mata are sung.

The fourth and last day of Chhath puja is 'Usha Arghya'. Chhath fast is broken on this day. On this day, devotees go to the river ghat before sunrise in the morning and then offer Arghya to the rising sun. First fast after puja raw milk Drink sherbet and then break the fast by eating prasad. Only after this the fast is considered complete. With this, Chhath festival also ends.
