Thekua

There is a tradition of making Thekua in Chhath Puja. To make it, add ghee to the syrup and mix it well. Now add wheat flour, grated coconut, cardamom powder and fennel in a vessel. Then mix all these things in the flour and knead it hard with syrup. After this, give it a shape in the mold of Thekua and fry it in deep oil.

Pumpkin Bhaat

Pumpkin Bhaat is very popular in Chhath Puja. To make it, fry mustard, fenugreek seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, coriander powder, red chili powder and ginger-green chili paste in hot oil. Now add grated pumpkin, salt and some water and cook. Finally add dry mango powder, sugar and green coriander and mix well. Now it can be served hot.

Rice Kheer

Making rice kheer is also considered important in Chhath Puja. To make it, soak rice in water for 2 hours. After this, boil milk in a vessel, add rice and cook for some time. Now add sugar or jaggery sugar, and cardamom powder to it.

Kasar Laddu

Kasar laddu is made as a sweet in Chhath Puja. For this, grind rice coarsely and make powder. Heat ghee in a pan, add jaggery powder, fennel and rice powder and fry well. Now make medium sized laddus with your hands.
