Chhattisgarh: Jnanpith Award-winning litterateur Vinod Kumar Shukla passes away, Chief Minister Yogi expressed grief

Raipur/Lucknow. The pride of Chhattisgarh and the prestigious signature of Hindi literature, Jnanpith Award-winning litterateur Vinod Kumar Shukla passed away on Tuesday. He was 89 years old. He breathed his last at AIIMS, Raipur. There is a wave of mourning in the literary world due to his demise.

It is reported that he was admitted to AIIMS Raipur on December 2 due to respiratory problems. His condition remained critical during treatment and he was on oxygen support on a ventilator. Despite the tireless efforts of the doctors, he died today.

Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep condolences on the demise of Vinod Kumar Shukla. Chief Minister Yogi issued a condolence message on the social media platform “X” and said that the demise of the renowned litterateur, decorated with the Jnanpith Award, is extremely painful and an irreparable loss for the literary world.

The Chief Minister also prayed to Lord Shri Ram to give place to the departed soul at his feet and to provide strength to the bereaved family members and his countless readers to bear this grief. He said that Shri Shukla had a special identity in the literary world for his simple language, human sensibilities and unique writing style. With his demise, Hindi literature has lost a visionary creator.
