Inauguration and bhoomi pujan of development works worth more than Rs 101 crore

Chief Minister participated in the tribute meeting organized at Sonakhan on the martyrdom day of Martyr Veer Narayan Singh.

Chhattisgarh News: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that the sacrifice of martyr Veer Narayan Singh is an immortal symbol of Chhattisgarh’s self-respect, struggle and self-respect. He arrived today at a tribute meeting organized at Sonakhan to pay homage to the first martyr of the state, Veer Narayan Singh, where he honored the descendants of the martyr and made many important announcements for the development of the area. The Chief Minister announced to start bus service under the Chief Minister Rural Bus Scheme in Sonakhan, sanction Rs 75 lakh for the construction of a new primary health center building, Rs 50 lakh for the construction of Cyan Sadan and Rs 20 lakh for the construction of toilet at the Madai fair site. He said that necessary provisions for eco-tourism development and road construction in Sonakhan will be included in the upcoming budget, which will give a new identity to this historical site and increase employment and facilities to the local people.

Chief Minister Sai said that Martyr Veer Narayan Singh was a brave son who stood up to protect the rights of the poor, farmers and deprived communities against the atrocities of the British rule, and presented a historical example of humanity by distributing food grains among the poor during the severe famine. The British government hanged him on 10 December 1857, but his sacrifice has been inspiring struggle, self-respect and resistance to injustice for centuries. He said that our government has fulfilled most of the promises under the ‘Guarantee’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is continuously working to expand basic facilities in tribal dominated areas. Addressing the program, Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam said that on this day the British government had hanged Veer Narayan Singh at Jaistambh Chowk in Raipur. He was martyred while fighting injustice and his sacrifice will continue to inspire people for generations. Giving information about the public welfare schemes of the state government, he said that the government is continuously working for development and welfare.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of 119 development works worth a total of Rs 101.44 crore. He handed over the keys of houses to 10 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Gramin and gave appointment letters to 37 youth under the ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ programme. Five talented students from the tribal community were also honored on the stage. A large number of public representatives and local citizens including Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Tankram Verma, former Assembly Speaker Shri Gaurishankar Aggarwal, former MLA Dr. Sanam Jangde and descendant of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Rajendra Dewan were present in the ceremony. The works inaugurated by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai include retrofitting tap water supply schemes at a cost of Rs 9.88 crore in villages Odan, Khartora, Sakri (S) and Datan (B) and single tap water supply scheme in Gordha. The works for which Bhoomi Pujan was performed included Leech Top Renovation and Embankment Construction at Arjuni at a cost of Rs 5.84 crore, Tilda, Karda Lata and Siriadih Minor of Lavan Branch Canal at a cost of Rs 3.63 crore, stop dam construction at Matiya Nala at a cost of Rs 3.36 crore, Khorsinala of Parsadih at a cost of Rs 2.99 crore. This mainly includes construction of stop dam and construction of inspection hut and residential building at Lahod at a cost of Rs 2.60 crore.
