Rare green cave found in Kanger Valley of Chhattisgarh, tourism will increase

Chhattisgarh News: Kanger Valley National Park of Chhattisgarh is already famous for its natural beauty and biodiversity. Now another unique natural cave has been discovered in this valley, which has been named “Green Cave”. This discovery is considered very special from tourism point of view.

Tourism and conservation are getting priority

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the state government is continuously working on tourism and conservation of wildlife heritage. Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that inclusion of Green Cave in the tourism map will give a new dimension to tourism in Kanger Valley. This will also provide new employment opportunities to the local people.

Green cave will soon open for tourists

Necessary preparations are being made by the Forest Department. After all the arrangements are completed, there is a plan to open this cave for tourists soon, so that people can see its natural beauty closely.

Why is this “Green Cave” special?

Green Cave is situated in compartment number 85 of Kotumsar area. There is a green microbial layer on the lime colored figures on the walls and ceiling of this cave. For this reason it has been named “Green Cave”. This cave is made of limestone and is considered to be one of the rare caves of Kanger Valley.

The view inside is mesmerizing

To reach the Green Cave one has to go through big stones. As soon as you enter inside, you see walls covered in green color. Walking further, a large chamber is visible, where shiny stalactites and layers of stone made of flowing water further enhance the beauty of the cave.

Focus on security and features

The Forest Department is regularly monitoring this cave situated amidst dense forests. Access roads, footpaths and other basic facilities are also being developed for the convenience of tourists. The Forest Department is continuously making efforts to make Kanger Valley a better tourist destination.
