The special thing about this scheme is that the government also buys the excess electricity generated at home. Ram Narayan told that he has made an agreement with the electricity department.
First, the electricity needs of his house are met by solar. The electricity that is left after that goes directly into the electricity grid. At the end of the year the government gives them the money for that electricity. In this way, now they have become not only electricity users but also electricity sellers.
