Foreign diplomats visit polling booth in Srinagar

A delegation of diplomats from various countries visited a polling station in Bemina area of ​​Srinagar to witness the voting process during the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Voting is being held today for 26 seats in six districts of the Union Territory. Diplomats from several countries visited several polling booths in Budgam and Srinagar during the second phase of voting in Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of External Affairs had invited a delegation of diplomats from around 15 countries, including the United States, Mexico, Guyana, South Korea, Somalia, Panama, Singapore, Nigeria, Spain, South Africa, Norway, Tanzania, Rwanda, Algeria and Philippines. The diplomats in the delegation also interacted with people and voters.

South African Diplomat Lara Swart said that I think we are from 15 countries. This is the first time I am visiting Jammu and Kashmir. It is really a privilege to be invited by the Ministry of External Affairs to come and visit the polling stations. A diplomat from Rwanda said that I think the election is well organized. We were explained very well about how things are going. A Norwegian diplomat said that it is very good. I have come to Srinagar for the first time. It is very important to visit different states and regions and of course talk to people. Dev, a diplomat from Tanzania, told that he had never seen such a practice before. Apart from this, he expressed surprise to know about the concept of pink booth.
