Chief Minister’s Health Scheme became a support, a 1 year old girl suffering from a serious illness was treated
Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana: With the increasing number of newborns and young children receiving treatment under the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Yojana, the Punjab government under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann is ensuring that medical assistance at this critical time starts without any delay.
Earlier one had to wait for approval
Khwaish, a 1-year-old girl, was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia in Sri Muktsar Sahib, requiring immediate medical attention. Earlier, in many such cases, families had to arrange funds, complete documents or wait for approval before treatment could begin. However, this gap has been eliminated under the Chief Minister Health Scheme.
A slight delay can cause complications
Since the health card was already made, treatment started immediately without any advance payment under the supervision of Dr. Monica Garg at Deep Hospital. The family neither had to arrange money nor go through verification processes, which helped doctors begin treatment at a critical time. In cases of young children, even a slight delay can lead to complications, but prompt access to treatment ensured that the child received timely care and recovered safely.
Newborns need special care
Similar cases have also been reported from districts like Sangrur and Mansa, where newborns suffering from underweight and other serious conditions requiring special care are getting medical assistance under the scheme without any financial constraints. The increasing number of such cases reflects how faster and easier access to treatment is becoming for families across Punjab.
There should be no delay in treatment
Highlighting the impact of the scheme, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the scheme ensures that there is no delay in treatment due to financial or administrative constraints. In such cases, where small children require urgent care, even a slight delay can have serious consequences. This scheme completely eliminates that menace.”
More than 26 lakh health cards
The scheme provides cashless health insurance of up to Rs 10 lakh per family per year for treatment in empaneled government and private hospitals. More than 26 lakh health cards have been issued so far and patients are receiving treatment under more than 2300 medical packages in more than 900 empaneled hospitals.
Cashless treatment under health scheme
The increasing number of neonatal and pediatric cases covered under the scheme reflects the shift towards faster and more accessible healthcare services, where treatment starts without any financial hassles. The Punjab Government is continuously encouraging residents to register for health cards at designated centers to avail cashless treatment under the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Yojana.
