*Balkonagar, November 23, 2024.* Vedanta Group company Bharat Aluminum Company Limited (BALCO) organized the inter-departmental volleyball competition with much fanfare. In the women's category of the competition, the Project Females team defeated the Security Spikers team and became the final winning team. In the men's category, Security A defeated Potroom Stars in an interesting match and won the final winner trophy. Power Rockers defeated Cast Busters team to secure third place in the competition.
A total of 36 men and 6 women teams took part in this competition. In the volleyball competition that lasted for about 15 days, the company's officers, employees, contract workers, women working in various units and the men's and women's teams of Balco Hospital entertained the sports lovers with their excellent performance. All the winning teams were congratulated by the senior officers of the company. Honored by giving trophy and medal. In the men's category, best spiker Suraj, best smasher Bibekanand Moharana (Bapuni) and best defender Vijay Mishra were selected. Whereas in the women's category, the title of Best Spiker Rupanjali, Best Smasher Suman Chandravanshi and Best Defender was given to Pushpanjali Chauhan. Praising the performance of all the teams in the competition, Chief Executive Officer and Director of BALCO Shri Rajesh Kumar congratulated the winning teams.
He said that it is important to organize sports events with the aim of increasing team spirit, unity and mutual harmony. The company has regularly organized various games for the health of its employees and business partners. More than 400 participants, including BALCO's officers, employees, business partners and township players, took part in the volleyball competition. To promote team spirit, apart from competitive matches, goodwill matches were played between Committee vs Referee Team and Management vs Trade Union. The teams competed in a spirit of sportsmanship which further strengthened the camaraderie within the organization.———————————————–
