China fired ballistic missile from nuclear submarine, created panic in the Pacific Ocean

India’s neighboring country China on Monday (July 6) successfully tested a ballistic missile from a nuclear submarine in the Pacific Ocean. The Chinese Army People’s Liberation Army (PLA) says that this was part of their annual military activity and its information was first given to the concerned countries. On the other hand, apart from America, Japan and Australia, New Zealand has also expressed serious concern over this step of China.

The US Home Department, reacting to China’s test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) fired from a nuclear submarine, has termed it as a step to increase tension in the Asia-Pacific region. Japan and Australia also strongly criticized this, saying that China is increasing military accumulation in the region.

The US State Department said in a statement that the US was keeping an eye on China’s test of an unarmed intercontinental missile, which fell in the South Pacific Ocean.

The statement said that while America is making more efforts than ever to stop nuclear proliferation, China is doing the opposite. Beijing’s rapid and without transparency expansion of nuclear weapons has become a matter of concern for the entire world.

According to the state news agency Xinhua, the PLA Navy said that a strategic missile with a dummy warhead was launched from one of its nuclear submarines at 12.01 pm local time, which accurately hit its target in the open sea belonging to the Pacific Ocean.

After this move by China, the US has appealed to Beijing to join arms control talks and adopt a system of regular information sharing on intercontinental missile and space launches. At the same time, America reiterated its commitment towards the security of its allies and partners and said that it will continue to fulfill its defense responsibilities.
