Wang Yi Meets PM Narendra Modi: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that China is ready to work with India to implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries. He said the two countries should work together to enhance mutual trust, resolve misunderstandings, intelligently handle sensitive issues, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and maintain the positive momentum of bilateral relations. Met with Ajit Doval

The Chinese Foreign Minister also met NSA Ajit Doval on the sidelines of the BRICS National Security Advisors meeting on Monday. During the talks, both sides reviewed the recent progress in bilateral relations and acknowledged that gradual progress is being made towards normalization of relations. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Ambassador Xu Feihong and other officials were also present in this meeting.

In the meeting with Ajit Doval, Wang Yi reiterated his support for India’s role as Chair of BRICS and said China is ready to work together with India for the development and expansion of the BRICS system. He said that it is important to respect each other’s core interests.
