China’s hydrogen drone becomes Guinness World Record, flies in the sky for 4 hours

New DelhiChina has once again done wonders in the field of technology, A hydrogen-powered drone has made a world record, The name of this drone is (Tianmushan-1), This drone kept flying in the air for more than four hours and covered a distance of more than 188 kilometers, Guinness World Records has officially recognized this achievement, This record was announced at a major exhibition in Hangzhou on 11 December, It is clear from this success that hydrogen technology is now enabling drones to fly for very long periods of time, This is a huge step forward compared to battery powered drones,

Supercarblondy reports (Ref.) that the Tianmushan-1 drone was built by Beihang University’s Tianmushan Laboratory. Its first flight took place in August 2024 and its production started in April 2025. This drone weighs only 19 kg in empty weight and can carry up to 6 kg of luggage. The biggest thing is that it runs on hydrogen fuel cell. In battery drones, the battery runs out, but the hydrogen system continues to generate energy during flight. With this, the drone can fly for a longer time. It works well even in very cold or hot weather, from minus 40 degrees to plus 50 degrees.

This drone made its record flight in Hangzhou. It remained in the air for more than four hours and covered a distance of 188.605 kilometers without stopping. The entire flight was monitored in real time. All data was carefully checked and everything was found to be correct according to Guinness rules. The drone’s engine remained stable throughout the flight and handling was also very good. This record is for the longest range of multirotor drones powered by hydrogen. Never before had the flight of such drones been so long.

This drone is not just for making records, but is very useful in everyday tasks. It does not harm the environment because it does not emit any harmful gases. It can be used to check pipelines, monitor traffic, protect forests and natural areas, deliver goods to remote places and help in emergencies. Due to its long flight it can cover large areas easily. Experts say that this record shows that hydrogen drones are no longer just experiments, but are ready for work.

Due to hydrogen technology, drones will now be able to fly for longer periods and do more work. In the coming times, such drones can play a big role in monitoring traffic in cities, helping in disasters and delivering goods. This record shows that drones are going to be a big part of our lives in the future. China’s drones have shown a glimpse of the future.
