China’s ‘salami slicing’ in the sea! India has faced Chinese rice on land, can America do it in water?

From Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh, China’s ‘salami slicing’ policy of taking two steps forward and one step back is well known. The Indian Army dealt with it with a heavy hand. But this time the Red Army has its eyes on the Pacific Ocean. According to several media reports, this time Beijing is following the policy of ‘salami slicing’ in the sea as well. Because of which America is worried.

According to the report of the US media ‘CNN’, some Chinese ships have recently patrolled far from the Chinese mainland. Beijing wants to ‘swallow’ several sensitive areas in the sea east of Taiwan. Not only that, it is reported that China is also conducting research in the disputed shoal lagoon. According to experts, Beijing’s moves reflect a ‘salami slicing’ strategy. In this strategy, they are expanding their dominance in the sea through small but continuous steps without creating military conflict or tension.

Analysts say Beijing is increasing its influence in several areas of the Western Pacific that are strategically important to both China and the United States. This move by China may be particularly worrisome for Taiwan. Because Beijing has repeatedly claimed that Taiwan is part of China. “Dragon” has also warned of using force if necessary. Earlier this month, three ships of China’s Maritime Safety Agency sailed through the Bashi Strait between Taiwan and the Philippines. The ships also began mapping the sea east of Taiwan. The question is, will America be able to stop this strategic aggression of China?

Mapping at sea also has military and strategic significance. In the words of one expert, “This information will help the Chinese Navy to more effectively operate submarines and fleets in waters east of Taiwan.” Not only that, but through this, Beijing can get a clear understanding of the cables, natural resources and other things lying under the sea. Which may become useful in future. The waters east of Taiwan are strategically important. This is because it connects the island to the wider Pacific Ocean and could become critical for Taiwan in times of crisis. So, if China strengthens its presence there, the problem will increase for Taiwan.

It is good to say that Taiwan has been cornered by dragons for a long time. China has always claimed Taiwan as its part. The communist country has become more aggressive since Xi Jinping took power in Beijing. President Xi has also spoken of occupying Taiwan by force several times. Since then, Taiwan has become more cautious. Taiwan is also equipping the military with advanced tools to prevent the Red Army attack.

It should be noted that by the year 2017, a wide heated situation was created between India and China over Doklam in India-Bhutan-China connection. The Chinese army wanted to build a road in that area. Then a satellite image shows that China has built an entire village 9 kilometers east of Doklam! On the other hand, in 2021, an all-India television channel claimed that the Red Army is slowly establishing a foothold in Arunachal Pradesh in the northeast. The television channel had claimed in their report that China had built a village on the banks of the Tasri Chu river after coming within four kilometers of Indian territory. Which increases the conflict between the two countries.
