Chinese AI tool banned in this country, Apple and Google removed it from App Store Gujarati

As much popularity as DeepSeek got after its launch, it is now getting into trouble. The whole world is always on alert regarding China, so how can anyone trust AI tools. Chinese artificial intelligence tool DeepSee has been blocked in Italy. The DeepSeek application has been removed by Apple and Google from their respective app stores in Italy. The Data Protection Commission of Ireland has also asked DeepSeek for information regarding data processing of Irish users.

Last week DeepSeek launched a free AI assistant that uses less data and works at a much lower cost than existing services. As of Monday, the subsidiary had overtaken US rival ChatGPIT in downloads from Apple’s App Store, raising concerns among tech stock investors.

Pasquale Stanzione, head of the Italian data regulator, told news agency ANSA that, “The news of the removal of the app came only a few hours ago, I cannot say whether it was caused by us or not.” According to ANSA, Stanzione said, “Our office will launch a detailed investigation to see whether the GDPR rules are followed.”

The Italian regulator, known as “Garante”, said on Tuesday it wanted to know from what sources, for what purposes, on what legal basis and why the personal data is stored in China. He has asked DeepSeek and its affiliated companies to reply within 20 days.

Stanzione also said that regulators want assurances about the safety of small users of the app, protection from bias and protection from election interference. Italian customers on Apple’s App Store were shown the notification “This app is not currently available in your country or region.” And a message on the Google App Store says “Downloads in Italy are not supported.”
