Authorities identified Hu as the main suspect in a fatal incident that occurred the previous afternoon at a hotel in An Lac Ward. The victim was a foreign man.

Police had alerted airport authorities overnight after identifying Hu as a person of interest. Investigators determined he had checked in for a Shandong Airlines flight bound for China.

Using surveillance footage, officers located him sitting at a café in the international terminal and moved in to make the arrest.
