Chinese Visa Scam Case: Congress MP Karti Chidambaram’s troubles increase, court frames charges

New Delhi. Rouse Avenue Court has framed charges of criminal conspiracy against Congress MP Karti Chidambaram and others in the Chinese Visa Scam Case. The court has also made Bhaskar Raman an accused in this case. The next hearing of the case will be on January 16. On framing of charges, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said that the legal process gives me many avenues and I will use all those avenues.

Special Judge (CBI) Dig Vinay Singh, who is hearing the case against Karti Chidambaram and seven others, ordered framing of charges against seven accused and acquitted a person named Chetan Srivastava in the case.

Earlier in October 2024, CBI had filed a charge sheet against Karti Chidambaram and others. The ED registered a money laundering case against the accused in an alleged scam related to the issuance of visas to 263 Chinese nationals in 2011. Karti’s father P. Chidambaram was the Union Home Minister at the time of the alleged scam.
