Dhaka: Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu, a religious leader associated with ISKCON Temple in Bangladesh, was arrested on Monday. He is accused of treason and disturbing communal harmony. There is a power struggle going on in Bangladesh. Recently, common people attacked the residence of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, which is going through a political crisis. After which Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country, currently she has taken refuge in India. Meanwhile, on August 6, ISKCON Temple was attacked. After which Chinmoy Prabhu came into discussion.
The idols of Lord Jagannath were burnt in this attack. After this, Chinmay Das had said that three other temples in Chittagong are also in danger. This matter was also raised by the Government of India.

Chinmoy Prabhu's assistant Adi Prabhu said he was taken to the DB office on Dhaka's Mintu Road, but it was not clear why he was detained.
Warrant of arrest not shown to Chinmay
According to Bangladeshi media, Chinmay Prabhu had reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Dhaka to Chittagong, during which he was arrested by the secret police. ISKCON members present at the spot say that the DB police did not show any arrest warrant. They just said they wanted to talk. After this he took them in the microbus.

Demonstrations have started in Dhaka demanding his release. The protesters have blocked the main road in Dhaka's Sehbagh. They are chanting 'We will die for justice, we will fight for it'.
Chinmay raises voice against attacks on Hindus
Chinmoy Prabhu is also known as Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari. He led protests in Bangladesh against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Since then his name is in discussion. During the attack he had said that Hindus had together made arrangements for their security. He also said that Bangladeshi Hindus are taking refuge in Tripura and Bengal to escape violence.
