Chiranjeevi was first choice for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s role in Euphoria; what changed?

Director Gunasekhar has revealed that he wanted Chiranjeevi to play the role Jayadev Nair, which was eventually portrayed by Gautham Vasudev Menon in his recent release Euphoria.

In an interview, Gunasekhar revealed that he had approached Chiranjeevi for the important role in Euphoria. Chiranjeevi listened to the script, took about a month to think it over, and later declined as he didn’t want to do special appearances at this stage.

Gunasekhar told, “I approached Chiranjeevi garu to play the role of Gautham Menon in Euphoria. He liked the role very much, but he is not part of the film as we did not want to do special appearances at this point.”

Chiranjeevi is known for his powerful screen presence. He is one of the most celebrated actors in the industry. Even a brief role featuring him would have significantly amplified the film’s buzz. His presence would have made its prospects even bigger and better at the box office around the world.

Euphoria is a social drama film, which has been written by Gunasekhar with Krishna Hari and Nagendra Kasi. The movie, which is released in cinema halls on January 6, features Bhumika Chawla, Sara Arjun, Nassar, Rohith, Vignesh Gavireddy, Likhita Yalamanchali and Addala Prudhviraj,

The story is about Vindhya Vemulapalli (Bhumika Chawla), the principal of one of the city’s top colleges, who shocks everyone by approaching the High Court and filing a case against herself. Her move sends ripples through the system. What pushed a her to take the blame publicly forms the crux of the story.
