This strict action of the administration is now being compared with the ‘Yogi Model’ of Uttar Pradesh, due to which this matter has become a topic of discussion at both political and social levels.
Administrative strictness started with notice
Immediately after the violence, Chaumun Municipal Council and police started identifying illegal activities in the area. During investigation, it came to light that in some areas including Pathan Colony, encroachments and illegal constructions had been going on on the roads for a long time. The administration issued notices to about 20 to 22 people on December 29. Clear instructions were given in these notices that encroachment should be removed from the road within three days, otherwise strict action would be taken.
Three days passed, no reply
Despite receiving the notice, neither any response was given by the people concerned nor any initiative was taken to remove the encroachment. The administration was continuously monitoring the situation. As soon as the deadline ended, the city council decided to take the next step.
Bulldozer arrived early in the morning

Illegal construction and structures built on the road were removed so that the public road could be cleared. During this, strict security arrangements were made, so that any kind of violence does not happen again.
Why was there violence in Chaumu?
The tension in Chaumun started over the railing to be installed near the mosque. Before this, talks took place between the police and the local people and an agreement was reached to remove a stone. But after the stones were removed, efforts to install railings started, which was opposed by the police. During this time some people pelted stones, in which many policemen were injured.
clear message from the administration
According to Municipal Council Health Inspector Sandeep Singh Kavya, this action is being taken completely as per the rules. He clarified that the bulldozer was operated only after the notice period was over.
