Chopan police gets big success, three vicious accused arrested

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma and under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Headquarters Anil Kumar and under the leadership of Regional Officer City Randhir Kumar Mishra, the Chopan police station has taken effective action on the incidents of snatching and busted an active snatching gang. In the sequence of which, on 24.12.2025, the Chopan police station was checking suspicious persons in the police station area. Meanwhile, information was received from the informer that the accused, who were involved in the previous snatching in Telugudwa area, are planning to snatch again and are planning to take the mobile phone recovered today to Bihar and sell it.
On information, police team from Chopan police station and Chowki Dala cordoned off the roadside forest near the toilet ahead of Telgudwa intersection. Some suspicious persons were seen in the light of mobile torch, who started running away after seeing the police. After laying siege, 03 accused were arrested from the spot, while others escaped taking advantage of darkness.
Details of arrested accused Respectively, Atal Ghasiya son of Rajkumar Ghasiya, resident of Churk Mod, Near Circuit House, Ghasiya Basti, Police Station Robertsganj, District Sonbhadra, age about 25 years, Rohit Vishwakarma son of Rajesh Vishwakarma, resident of Nagsar, Police Station Nagsar, District Ghazipur (Current address – Dala Malin Basti, Police Station Chopan), age about 26 years, Dhananjay Singh alias Toofan Singh son of Loha Singh, resident of Naudiha, Police Station Kon, District Sonbhadra, aged about 18 years.
Names of 05 absconding accused respectively
Sonu, Shivkumar, Vikas Yadav (resident – Churk Mod, Ghasia Basti, Police Station Robertsganj), Krishna Singh, Pintu Ghasia (resident – Police Station Kon, District Sonbhadra)
During interrogation, the accused told that Sonu, a member of the gang, disguised as a woman, used to stop the drivers on the road and took them towards the forest and snatched their mobile phones and cash from behind. After the raid, mobile phones were taken to Bihar and sold at low prices, and the money received was divided among themselves.
Details of recovery – 18 nos. mobile phones, ₹2320/- cash, 01 nos. ladies suits, feminine make-up items.
On the basis of recovery and arrest, advance legal action is being taken by registering a case at Chopan police station under IPC No. 463/2025, Section 304(2), 317(2), 317(5), 3(5) BNS.
